Using BaylorConnect
Step 1: Head over to www.Baylor.edu/BaylorConnect
Log in using your BearID and Password.
Step 2: Click your profile icon at the top right of the screen and select "Event Pass."
Here you can also update your profile picture and turn on text notifications about upcoming events if you'd like. Just click your name and update your settings within "my account."
Step 3: Download, screenshot, or save your Event Pass.
This QR code is your unique pass linked to your student ID and will be scanned at the end of each CAE event for credit. Save this QR code to your phone! It will not change throughout your time at Baylor.
Step 4: Return to the BaylorConnect home screen and click the Events tab.
Filter the events to "Creative Arts Experience Branch" and "CAE ALL Category" and begin to search for events that you're interested in. Our events covers are color-coded to make exploring easier.
Red - Film Credit
Blue - Art Credit
Green - Music Credit
Purple - Theatre Credit
Yellow - Literature World Cultures Credit
Step 5: Viewing an event's details
When clicking on a specific event, pay attention to the following information:
- The event time and location
- The event description: This will provide important information such as whether the event requires tickets, and when, where, and how to purchase them.
- The event category: All CAE events will be labeled with "CAE ALL" and an additional tag for which category the event will fulfill.
Remember, to meet the 12 event academic core requirement, you must see at least 2 events from all of the following categories: film, theatre, art, music, and literature/world cultures. You can only obtain credit from an approved CAE event.
Step 6: Attend your event
When arriving at an in-person event, double-check that the event you are attending is approved for CAE credit by verifying the information on BaylorConnect. After the event has ended, students will need to locate the CAE representative and present their Event Pass to be scanned for credit.
Attendance for synchronous online events will be recorded via QR code. Scan the code at the end of the event, follow the link, and sign in to Connect. A blue banner will appear on the bottom of your screen confirming that your attendance has been recorded.
Attendance for asynchronous online events requires submitting the reflection questions in the online form before the end of the listed event time.
Step 7: Check your Degree Audit
Students will be able to check if they have obtained credit by checking their Degree Audit on Bearweb within 48 hours of an event.
